What are the dangers of tummy tuck?
What does tummy tuck entail and what are the side effects to such surgeries?
Tummy tuck is a surgical procedure in which excess skin and fatty tissues from the anterior wall of the abdomen are removed. This is aimed at giving the patient an abdomen that is flat and aesthetically pleasing.
Just like with every surgical procedure, there are some complications that may sometimes arise following tummy tuck.. the patient may have excessive bleeding or collection of blood under the skin referred to as hematoma, there could be infection and breakdown of the site of the surgery, problem with healing, skin loss or deep venous thrombosis etc..
Please, note that these are not specific to tummy tuck, but can occur with any surgical procedure.
Tummy tuck is a safe procedure.
